Very few buildings in Texarkana have more than two stories. When I first moved here, I knew I needed a local hairdresser. While I was at the Arkansas drivers' license office - yes, I have an Arkansas driver's license - I saw a teenager with cute hair and asked her where she got it done. She told me: "The Carlisle House. It's the two story building on State Line Ave." State Line Ave. is several miles long, the main drag in town that separates Texas from Arkansas.
